Empowering the YAG Experience Across the Midwest

The YMCA’s Youth and Government program is a dynamic civic education initiative that involves middle and high school students in the workings of democracy. Participants create legislation, engage in debates, and role-play as legislators, executive officials, journalists, judges, or attorneys within state-level model governments. Guided by the motto, “Democracy must be learned by each generation,” the program strives to cultivate lifelong, actively engaged citizens through hands-on learning experiences.
